What causes seasons? Well the tilt of the Earth does. The earth is tilted at a 23.5 degree angle.
In this experiment, we dosidoed around a light bulb and saw the light hitting the earth at different angles.
The sunlight hits the earth at an angle, so in the summer, the location in the middle of the earth gets direct sunlight so it is super hot!
Here, the pasta represents sunlight. The sunlight hits the earth in a thick line.
The earth is tilted, so a different amount of sunlight hits the earth. The north and south poles get a very small amount of sunlight, that's why they are so cold!
This experiment is called Pasta Paralells by the way. We saw the dates of December 21st.
March 20th/September 22nd
And June 21st
The moon creates the tides by having gravity that pulls on the tides of the earth. This picture shows the moons gravity pushing and pulling on the tides!
