In this guide; however, we will teach you a method which you can use to quickly find the numbers just using your brain! And it's both fun and even faster than your phone!

First, let's get the 10% of a number. To get this, move the decimal point one position to left. For example, 10% of 25.68 is 2.56 or for 30.00,1.00, or 245.54 are 3.00, 0.10 and 24.55 respectively.

Now to get the 5% a number, just get the 10% first, then divide what you get by 2. For example, 5% of 15.00 is (first its 10% is 1.5, then divide by 2) 0.75.

Another example, 5% of say $127.45 is 12.74/2= $6.37. Or 5% of $17.00 is 1.7/2= $0.85 and so on.

Now, to find 20% of a number first we find the 10% and then we multiply it by 2. For example, 20% of $34.00 is 3.4x2= $6.80. Or, 20% of $72.35 is 7.23x2= $14.46.

To get the 25% of a number, you can either divide the number by 4 (if it is easy like 8, 40, 24, etc.) or you can get the 20% and 5% and add them up. For example, 25% of $52.17 is (10.4+1.7) $12.10

30%, 40%, 60%, 70%, 80% and 90% are easy to find. Just find 10% and multiply by 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 respectively. For 50%, just divide the number by 2. Like 50% of $145.23 is $72.61.

To get 35%, 45%, 55%, ... just find 30%, 40%, 50% first and then add the 5% respectively. Now, lets practice some values...

Let's say there is a hand bag with an original price tag of $163.50, then immediately we can find its 10% (16.35), its 5% (8.17), its 20% (32.70), its 25% (40.87), its 30% (49.00) and its 35% (57.00)

With a bit of practice, you can get all the percentages on the go as you walk in a shopping center or dining in a restaurant.
