How to dress-up like ๐ms kay costume on duck dynasty๐
My Dear Daughter, Jo Jo is in the school program as Ms Kay in Duck Dynasty. This is how we did it.

STEPS
TOOLS
Ms Kay always wears her apron 'cause she's always a'cookin. We chose a red one.
Iron your apron so Ms Kay looks nice.
Don't forget the straps! Lay 'em flat.
Then iron 'em down.
Ms Kay has her name on her apron. So we got some of the jeweled letter stickers. These will peel right off when you're no longer Ms Kay.๐
Cut the letters into strips.
Then the letters for Ms Kay.
Now to get them straight. Grab some tape.
Place a piece on top of apron.
Like so.
Then, fold in half.
Tape on your half mark and to your table for steadiness.
Now arrange your letters.
I pulled the M off to start.
These pull off easy.
Like so.
I had placed tape under the M to be sure to get Ms Kay's name straight.
I wanted to add a period after the S, so I snipped a jewel off the Q.
Like so.
So far it looks good.
Almost done!
There. Does it look right? Is it straight? If not, fix it!
Take the tape off. Check again.
Turn it over.
Iron on back side of stickers so the heat will help the stickers stay stuck. Can't have Ms Kay's letters falling off.
Now you need a contrasting colored shirt to wear under your apron.
I like the color contrast but that apron will be hanging too low.
It needs to be up more.
Like this far.
You could loop and knot here or ..
Take the top..
Fold over in half ..
Pull strings out straight..
Till have exact middle..
Then snip snipโ..
Now you can knot it.
Much better :)
Now Ms Kay needs a bowl..
..and a spoon..
For added effect..put some powdered sugar or flour in a Baggie..
Like so..
Roll up some tape..
Place on the side of bowl.
Roll the top down.
Place bag against tape. Now your Ms Kay is ready to pinch some in her hand and blow it like Ms Kay does on the show.
Like so.
Now Ms Kay's hair is black. Dear Daughter's hair is blonde. So we got some black hairspray.
Now Ms Kay wears the red lipstick..so get out that red color.
Livin' in the swamp, Ms Kay and any other lady certainly needs her boots.
There she is! What a strong woman to have raised such fine boys that respect their mother so much they call her Ms Kay. I'm inspired to do as good a job on my sons. This picture of her was our guide.
This is Jo Jo, my Dear Daughter. Isn't she lovely? She's my baby girl. ๐
First thing we did was pin her hair up. 'Cause Ms Kay's hair is short.
Grab the black hairspray. Shake this up again, at least for 30 seconds. Cover self with towel and the floor. This black will get everywhere. We should have sprayed this outside. But live and learn!๐
Here's with the new black hair! She looks so different! But it's not as bad as the time we did her hair bright red. She looked like her hair was on fire!๐ฅ
Next we drew over her brows with black liner to make them pop.
Add some red cheeks and lips..๐..and a wee bit of mascara.
Add some shades on top..'cause Ms Kay's famous don't ya know. ๐
Apron on..
And it's a Ms Kay look alike!
Isn't she beautiful?
Jo Jo loves to dress up..and I love helping her.
I see the resemblance.
Before and After
Proud Daddy wore his new Duck Dynasty shirt for the big event. We really enjoyed our time with "our" Ms Kay. Enjoy!
