Tone bogus paper with side strokes of white chalk pastel.  Blend into paper with paper towel to create even light value.

Transfer lines from contour tracer by creating "sandwich" of toned bogus paper on bottom, graphite transfer paper (graphite side facing down), and contour tracer on top.  Trace line with firm pressure

Using chalk pastel sticks, apply local color.  Use good technique-even application, crisp edges, even gradations.  Keep white from underneath white pastel where the light values are.

Add value, reaching white to dark. Use blue in shadows, neutrals, and complementary color to richer and deepen. Avoid a rainbow "throwing up".
