How to draw anime

Draw the body contour. Remember to do this as lightly as you could because there will be darker layers added on.

Draw the hair, eyes, and clothing.

The eyes are darker at the edges. If you darken at the right areas, it will turn out nicely. Art is all about experimenting, even when it comes to anime.

Shade in the pupils and the top of the eye, darkening the eyelashes as well.

The right eye seems lighter, but it's actually the reflection of my lamp against the paper. Anyways, make the top of the eye to the bottom a gradient hue, dark to light. Add a shine.

Darken the entire drawing. I started from a 2H pencil to draft, then an HB pencil. This was drawn with a B pencil.

Finish off with a trusty black pencil crayon. Always keep a few in handy, for they are extremely useful. You are now done the contour.

Shade in areas meant to be a dark colour.

Start to add shading to the hair and skin.

If you'd like, use an eraser and lightly swipe across the hair (if shaded), like they do in most animes. Finished!
