How to draw an autumn/fall leaf

I start by holding the tip of the pencil and sketching a basic shape lightly.

Find a leaf you want to draw.

Leaf!

I taped mine down so my teacher could see the source image.

Basic shape starting to show.

Now, hold the pencil in the middle and sketch over correcting any mistakes and pressing a bit harder. Try not to rub out!

Add key features, like holes and veins. Stuff like that.

Going back over features.

Start to shade, see main lights and darks by squinting at your source.

Start to even it out.

Shade leaf tips.

Done! :)

Get your colours out. I,m using watercolour pencils.
