How to draw an animal using stipple method

Draw your animal using your photo as a reference. Use a ruler to measure proportions so they come out correctly on your paper.

Look closely at you photo at the dark and light values. Create value in your drawing by adding dots to medium and dark areas.. Leaving lightest areas alone.

Then you can go back and add more dots to your darkest values. Notice the nostril's dark area.

Take your time! Get proportions as close as you can to photo. Stipple correctly, do not "jab" at paper. Make sure you have dark, medium and light values. Do your best!
