How to do the confusion cut

For this example I will use the ace of spades on top and the ace of clubs on bottom.

Hold the deck.

Set the TOP 3rd down on the right of the table.

Set the NEXT 3rd down to the LEFT of the first.

Set the last 3rd on top of the first pile (the one on the right) but leave a little ledge, so you'll be able to just take the two thirds apart.

Don't let the spectator(s) see the ledge. So as you set it down put your hand like this and pick the deck up.

Take the top part (at the ledge) at set it down to the LEFT then set the bottom all the way to the right. Then take the RIGHT pile at set it on top of the next pile to the left. See step 7's picture.

Set the left pile (will be 2/3 of the deck) on top of the left pile.

The deck will be in the same order. Not just the top and bottom but all of the deck will be the same.
