We begin with a two digit by two digit multiplication problem.

We begin with a two digit by two digit multiplication problem.

First you multiply the 2 values in the ones place 4x4 =16 so I put the 6 in the ones place and carried the 3 tens to multiply with the tens place.

First you multiply the 2 values in the ones place 4x4 =16 so I put the 6 in the ones place and carried the 3 tens to multiply with the tens place.

Next you will multiply the ones place in the bottom by the tens place in the top multiply 80x4=320 I then add 320 and 16 and get 336 I put the 0 in the tens place and a 3 in the hundreds place.

Next you will multiply the ones place in the bottom by the tens place in the top multiply 80x4=320 I then add 320 and 16 and get 336 I put the 0 in the tens place and a 3 in the hundreds place.

Next you multiply the 4 in the tens place which would be 40 and then multiply the 4 in the ones place which would be 40x4=160 so you put the 6 by the 0 at the bottom and the 1 above 8 in the 10 place.

Next you multiply the 4 in the tens place which would be 40 and then multiply the 4 in the ones place which would be 40x4=160 so you put the 6 by the 0 at the bottom and the 1 above 8 in the 10 place.

After that you multiply the both numbers in the tens place which is 4x8=32 but you add the number on top of the 8 which would be a1so it will equal 33 next you put 33 by the 60 so the sum will be 3360

After that you multiply the both numbers in the tens place which is 4x8=32 but you add the number on top of the 8 which would be a1so it will equal 33 next you put 33 by the 60 so the sum will be 3360

Now that you done that you add up the numbers which are 336+3,360=? First you add up the ones which is 6.

Now that you done that you add up the numbers which are 336+3,360=? First you add up the ones which is 6.

Next you add up the hundred which is 3+3=6 so you put it a the bottom.

Next you add up the hundred which is 3+3=6 so you put it a the bottom.

Next you add up the thousands so it would equal 3,696.

Next you add up the thousands so it would equal 3,696.
