First, brush out your doll's hair using an American Doll brush. Work out any tangles.
Next, you will want to grab a small section of hair at the center back of her part. Smooth it out with your brush.
Now split that small section into three smaller sections to begin the braid.
Using your other hand (mine not pictured) grab a small section of hair from the right side of the head and pull it back.
Now join it with the small section of hair farthest to the right.
Then pull it under the middle strand of hair.
Next, retrieve a section of hair from the left side of the head and pull it back, still holding all of the other strands in place between your fingers.
Then join it with the small strand on the farthest left.
Next pull it under the strand that is in the middle.
Repeat the steps of 4-6 for the right side of the head and steps 7-9 for the left side until you have used up all of the hair on either side. Remember to use fairly big chunks of hair when adding.
When all of the hair is added begin to traditional braid the rest of the hair until you reach the ends.
Finish off with an elastic band.
