I start from the regular stance
I simply extend the shoulder and arm forwards at the opponent. There is also a tuning of the hips. I often root the lead leg to the floor for additional stability and stopping power.
I start from the guard and follow the line straight through.
The more I rotate the hips and body, the more range I can get. Sometimes I will want to thrust through the target like a spear.
I am ready to set up the right hand.
The shoulder leads the strike, and I aim straight down the middle. If I am off centre, I will lose thrusting power.
