First of all, make sure you have a towel to rest the persons/clients arm on. Also you can put couch roll on top and under the towel.
Then get some lotion or cream of your choice.
Apply hand cream to your hands, preferably 3-4 pumps.
Spread it on your hands.
Start by taking one of the arms and do long strokes up and down the arm. This is called effleurage. Do this 6 times.
Then use your thumb and press down on the arm and do circular movements on the arm. Do this 6 times on each side of the arm.
After that, massage the top of the wrist in a circular motion.
Later on, massage the metacarpals. These are your knuckles. Do a up and down movement.
The next step is palm kneading (my favourite). These are kneading movements on the palm. Do this a couple of times.
Once you've done that, turn the hand back. And circle down each finger and lightly pull.
After, support the wrist and gently move the hand backwards and forwards and around.
Finish off with effleurage. Do this 6 times. This is how you do a hand and arm massage. We hope you enjoyed doing this!
