Tape your stencils to the board so they won't slide around. Use this time to lay them out exactly as you want them before doing anything else.

Nail Around the stencils. Don't nail the nails too close together. Use good judgment on how you want it to look. I used Copper Plated Weather Strip Nails size 3/4.

Remove the stencils. I had to use tweezers to pull the paper off. I also nailed over the paper in some parts, so it was kind of hard to remove the pieces that were stuck under the nail.

I chose to make my birds different colors. You can get any color embroidery thread you want. I tied a know of the string to one of the nails and started from there.

Wrap the strings whichever way you want. If you want a more defined look, then you can follow a pattern. Mine was just random. I also went around each bird twice to create the outline.

  • 1.0 Paint Brush
  • 1.0 Can of Wood Furnishing Stain
  • Embroidery Thread (Any Color)
  • Nails depending on your image size
  • Hammer
  • Wire ( I bought this, but didn't use it)
