All right, let the music discovery begin! I'll be showing some of my favorite ways to find new music!
First off, it's great to have a dedicated music folder. This will give you a quick shortcut to all your radios and music streams.
🎵Method 1: iTunes🎵
The iTunes featured tab is kind of amazing. It shows new releases, popular now, and discounted albums and songs. Also, there is a free song of the week that comes out Thursday's.
Feel free to judge an album by its cover. The best artists almost always have the best album art!
🎵Method 2: iHeartRadio🎵
iHeartRadio is great for listening to a variety of music from a genre.
Live radio is great, because the radio station hosts often talk about the music and give you more knowledge on your favorite bands!
Local stations are super cool, because they also give you news and info about your city or area.
If you opt out of live radio and use a personal station, here's a tip: Tune station for more discovery! Click the ellipses points at the bottom right, next to the skip button.
Tap "Tune Station".
Choose variety and you'll get a mix of less-popular artists to fall in love with!
🎵Method 3: Spotify🎵
Spotify is like iHeartRadio, but for a fee, allows you to stream any song you like!
My favorite way to find music through Spotify is as follows. Go to the browse section.
These 3 categories at the bottom are constantly updated with new artists based on what you listen to in the radio!
For example, I recently listened to OneRepublic radio, so it now recommends Rob Thomas, a similar artist!
🎵Method 4: Talk to People!🎵
Friends, family, coworkers, and even school peers alike can give awesome advice on finding music!
Talk to people, and remember that music is a universal topic, so you can talk about it with nearly anyone! There is always great, new music to listen to, and ALWAYS keep an open mind!
