How to decorate/organize your place the green way

No bookcase? Too expensive? Stack them up or build a bookcase out of cardboard!

Took these cardboard end pieces from Ikea box springs, so trusty duct tape and vwala- free99 bookcase!

Notice that I'm so anal I started covering my books!?! Much simpler way to look organized is to simply turn the spines around or lay them on their sides. I stacked old milk crates as a bookshelf too.

Or you can use old chalk boards, canvases, & even scrapbook paper to hide misc items or add labels like I do.

I found these at an antique shop goin out of business and bought them with no idea what I would ever do with them. Put them in front of some crates to label my misc office/craft stuff.

Love Flowers? Have a Country/rustic fetish? Who doesn't?! Grab a mason jar, some jute string and a pipe clamp, toss in some wild flowers and there u go! This one is waiting to be attached to the board

This board. I needed a catch all for when I came in, so I grabbed some random stuff and an hr later had my solution. I'll post a separate how to for this. Super fun and endless possibilities!

Wino? I am and I hate tossing such cool bottles! So I find ways of repurposing. I dried this rose and dropped it on a wine bottle for a simple, romantic touch. You can keep it simple or embellish.

Hang you roses to dry or wrap jute around them and keep them there.

Or... Cut the heads and wrap them around something like a flower pot, stand alone candle, a candle holder, a wine bottle, a picture frame, a vase, you get the idea...

Drab corner? Breath some life into it with a plant or some kind of outdoor feature for a natural touch to your space. I found these shutters randomly and haven't decided what to do with them yet...

I have a drum set but I like my neighbors so it became a nightstand instead. Convenient way to wake the boyfriend too!

Wanna a more whimsical night stand? Find some nesting boxes, an old step stool or even some luggage to create a friend for your bed. I've used stacks of books before too which was a cute touch.

Now for some totally random ideas I hope can solicit some inspiration. Feel free to ask questions or share your ideas!

Told you I like wine. I'll come up with a fun use for these corks, but for now I put them in cases for proof to visitors that I'm a lush. Sounds funny but I have plenty more of these scattered around.

Fell in love with this test tube holder when I ran into it at Ecocentricity in Phoenix and knew it would be the perfect paint brush holder!

Ikea plant holder= $.79. Pipe clamp from ReStore=$.25. If you haven't checked out ReStore yet- do it! It's a great place for upcyclers and we all love Habitat 4 Humanity right?

Old watering can got jealous of always giving and running around for the flowers- if they want water they can come to him. Typical !

Old candy box (or jewelry /gift box) with a little sand and some stand alone candles. Wrap some ribbon for an added touch. Saves your surface, $$ and the planet. Those are soy based candles right?

Love scrapbook pages, unique bags, concert posters and random crap like me? You hoarder! Show off your collection with some wire and clips. Could use clothes line clips for some added flare.

Record bowl! This vinyl was warped otherwise I wouldn't do it- but 200 degree oven, a bowl and 5 min. Done!

Just pop it in the over (over 200 degrees and it'll release VOCs- no good) and mold it as you like. Don't like the shape? Re-melt it and try again.
