Since last year I'm studying graphic design. The first thing I've learned was how to make typographic characters. ✏

Take your paper and make small guide lines if you want. This is for the space between the beginning and end of you paper.

Then draw an upperline. This is the beginning of the corps of your character: the height of the character As you can see I drew 2 lines. That's because I'm going to make curly characters.

Now you need to decide wich size characters you'd like. For example: I choose size 80. (The sizes are like the sizes we use in Office Word).

Now you've choosen your size, you'll need to make a small calculation: Your size X 0,376 = the height you'll be using on your paper in mm.

Example: mine size was 80. So the sum is 80 X 0,376 = 30 mm. With that size you can draw another line: your under line of your character.

Example: mine size was 80. So the sum is 80 X 0,376 = 30 mm. With that size you can draw another line: your under line of your character.

Now you'll need to do another calculation. Devide your outcome by 2. Example: 30 : 2 = 15. Devide it again by 2. Example: 15 : 2 = 7,5 mm. This is for the next 2 lines you'd be drawing.

Your drawing should look something like this. The 2 lines are in the middle of your upper and under lines. They mark the space for your chapital characters , and the sticks of the 'P' 'Y' 'T' 'K'.

Maybe this picture will with what I'm trying to explain. You see 4lines: the upper, under and the 2in the middle. All characters drew in the middle. This is what you're going to do.

Choose any kind of character type you'd like. I've choosen for "Edwardian Script".

Decide the distance between your characters. I've choosen for 5mm. Then decide you big your characters will be. I've choosen for 15mm. Now you can draw your characters. TAKE YOUR TIME FOR THIS!!!

If you're done with all your characters, take a good look. Are you satisfied about them? YES: you can go on the the next thing. NO: try to make the as perfect as you want them to be.

Take your brush and ink and color your characters. NOTE: you can also use other things like color pencils or markers.

When your ink has dryed, erase all the lines.
