How to create melted crayon silhouette art

Cut out a printed silhouette of a couple under an umbrella.

Once you have cut it out, trace the cut-out onto the canvas in the bottom righthand corner.

To keep the silhouette protected from the crayons you'll need to cover 2 flashcards in cling wrap and tape them to the canvas in the shape of the umbrella.

Next, choose the order and color for your crayons. Green, blue, and purple work best for the rain effect. You're going to glue them across the top of the canvas with the glue gun.

Now it's time to melt. Plug in your hairdryer and sit the canvas up against a wall. Make sure to have newspaper laying underneath. I did mine on the floor to make it easier.

To begin, slowly move the hairdryer back and forth across the crayons and they will begin to drip down the page. In the beginning they will be more of drops, not streams, and it might take a while.

The longer you melt them, the more there will be across the canvas. If its taped it down right, the crayon should go around or sit on top of the flashcard. Don't worry, this is the effect you want.

Once you have finished melting the crayons for the look you want, you'll want to take the flashcard off of the couple.

Now that the couple has been uncovered, color them in to give the effect of a silhouette.

Your last and final step is to sign your masterpiece and let the art dry over night. It dries very quickly but we want to make sure the blobs are fully dried as well.
