How to create halloween mini pumpkins

Create easy yet elegant mini pumpkins for your Fall mantle

I liked the idea of different sizes so I chose both gourds and mini pumpkins

First, Clean them with a damp cloth.

Next, paint them with 2-3 coats of paint until they are completely covered. This step takes time because you want to wait until they are completely dry before applying each coat.

Once all the coats are dry, you can begin decorating!

I bought a pkg of clear letters for about $3 at Hobby Lobby.

Apply a coat of Mod Podge to the pumpkin, lay the letters on and let dry before adding another layer to seal.

To add dotted swirls, use a small brush to apply the design of your choice.

This takes somewhat of a steady hand if painting the design freehand. I use my pinky to steady my hand.

For the glitter, paint the entire pumpkin in Mod Podge then sprinkle glitter and let dry. Once dry, apply another coat of Mod Podge to seal the glitter.

I used regular push pins but added sparkle by painting/glittering them.

Paint each push pin black. While still wet, dip the pin in glitter and let dry.

Once the pins are dry, simply push them into the pumpkin then add another coat of Mod Podge to seal. I mixed a little MP and glitter and painted the entire surface.
