First, fill your apothecary jar with your sand- as much as you'd like. Pictured is one bag of sand in a very large jar. I wanted a subtle arrangement.

My table runner is very net-like. I just sort of moved it around until I liked it and created a flat spot for the jar in the center. Any table runner you have will work!
