How to create an origami crane

This Snapguide will help you create your very own crane! Once you get the steps down, you will be able to create your own crane without any help! :) I hope you guys enjoy my Snapguide!

Establish side A which is the side with the design and will be the outside and side B which is the inside of the crane.

Here we'll do a Valley Fold, we'll take the top left hand corner & fold it diagonally to meet the bottom right hand corner (both corners are marked with dots). End shape should match shape on right.

Here we'll repeat step 2, but this time unfold your paper, and take the bottom left hand corner and valley fold to meet the top right hand corner. End shape should match shape on right.

At this point your paper should look like mine, with an X shape.

Here we'll do a Mountain Fold, unfold the paper, we'll take the bottom of the paper & fold it to meet the top (both corners are marked with dots). End shape should match shape on right.

Push the center & your paper will look like the one on the left. I labeled the sides that you will fold down (inward) towards the center line. It should look like the picture in the next step.

Now that your shape looks like mine on the left, you are going to take the flap that is still open and flatten it down to look like the picture in the next step. This is a modified squash fold.

The dotted lines indicate where we will fold the 3 top flaps. We will do the ice cream fold on flaps 2 &3 into the solid black line. Flap 1 will fold down to the black dot pictured above.

After step #12, your shape should resemble mine. These flaps are still folded.

Unfold the 3 flaps and slightly pull up on the top shape. Your shape should resemble the one on the left. REMEMBER  to open up to the top fold. This is called the Petal Fold.

Pushing both flaps in towards each other and flatten down, your shape should look like the one on your left.

Flip the shape over & repeat steps #11-14, your shape should resemble the shape on the left. REMEMBER, the bottom two flaps should be able to be moved separately, if not, flip the shape upside down.

Here, we will do an ice cream fold along the dotted lines, each edge meeting the black dots in the center of the shape.

Following step #16, your shape should look like mine on the left.

Flip the shape over and repeat step #16-17. Your shape should now resemble mine on the left.

Unfold both flaps, pull the right side out to the right and up (inward), and flatten.  That is the Inside Reverse Fold. We will do the same for the left side.

Notice the dotted line on the left flap, that is where we will fold it down along that line. This step is similar to step #19 & 20.

Here we will unfold the left side that was previously folded, and it will look like this.

He we will do the Inside Reverse Fold. The shape should look like this when you're done. Refer to step #21 if you need a reference, the steps are similar.

Your shape will resemble the picture on the left. Now we will flip the shape over, and do the same for the other flap.

VOILA! :D Take the bird by it's tail and set it upright, similar to the picture above and shazam! This is our crane!
