Using Gel Medium adhere your embellishments. I started with the chipboard on the bottom piece, then added my items on top. I used gel medium to add art stones for added texture and dimension
Be sure to add some detail to the handle, Here i made a clay piece using a clay mold then added a metal embellishment on top to add more detail. All adhered with gel medium.
Once all your layers are dry, add a coat of gesso ontop of everything
be sure to get in and under all the little areas where color might go.
Begin by using a small paint brush and add colors to the shadow areas of the layers. Adding color underneath and allowing it to drop own. Feel free to dab color off with a baby wipe. I used clover.
I wanted to add a but more depth to the embellishments so i added a bit of leaf sorbet to some areas. The clay piece you see under the heart, actually started falling apart, i had to take it off.
Begin to use the Amber Sorbet. Be sure to add this to the areas where you feel rust would develop. It often starts at the bottom of a piece and works it way up. Add more clover spray when you need.
Dont forget about the hanndle, Let the Clover spray drip down when you brush it on, you can clear away excess color with a baby wipe. Or water it down it the color is too much. Add Amber sorbet
You can see the bottom clay piece is gone. I added Amber sorbet to the areas of the butterfly and bottom of the heart. I also added a chain to the heart and attach it to the key.
I used my fingers to add more Amber Sorbet to the butterflies and areas of the heart on the bottom i used a small brush.
add more Clover spray to areas and dab off with a baby wipe. Be sure to heat set in between all your layers of color. I did add some some Granny smith color in some spots to brighten the color up.
I really love how this little project turned out. The amber Sorbet medium is one of my favorite products. I only used two products , Clover Colorations Spray, and Amber Sorbet Medium.
