How to create a stylish bird bowl out of clay!

I found this website for how to make clay or you can use store bought clay.

Place cling wrap in your bowl. Knead the clay until there are no cracks or bubbles of air, then flatten or roll out the clay like so. Place into bowl and press agianst bowl. Smooth with water.

Roll out an oval and smooth it onto the outer edge of the bowl. This is where the bird is going to sit.

Roll out a ball and pinch like so to create a bird shape.

Smooth out with wet fingers until you are happy with the look.

Criss cross the bottom of the bird and the bowl and wet so that the bird and bowl stick together well. Then smooth out the bowl and bird until you are happy with it.

Once your bowl is hard enough to remove from the plastic. Smooth out the outer surface with water until your happy. I like the more hand made look.

Let the bowl completely dry in the sun. It should take about 24 hours or more depending on the thickness. You can leave it like this if you like or go onto the next step.

Paint until you are happy with it.. You can use a sharpie to create patterns underneath aswell that would look great.

If you like you can paint some gloss ontop i used this one and it is great.. Just apply coats 30 minutes apart then allow 24 hours to dry completely

Now you have created a stylish bird bowl. You could try different animals like a cat, dog or frog something simple and stylish.
