You now have a circle with 4 equal parts. You need 12.

You can eyeball it, or use a protractor and mark the paper at 30, 60, 120 and 150 degrees. Flip the paper around and repeat.

When you are finished, it should look like this.

Get a piece of tracing paper and lay on top of design and draw it with a pen.

TURN OVER the tracing paper and get a soft lead pencil and completely cover the back side of the tracing paper where there is drawing.

Flip the drawing face up and line up the pattern to the center tip and the edge of the pie. Trace with a pencil. It will leave a print of the pattern.

Continue this around the circle.

Use a soft hand when tracing, the paper is super fine and tears easily. If you are careful, you should be able to get all 11 tracings off the one pattern!

Using your red pencil, choose a section to start with and color the piece. I chose to only color the negative space of this piece. I will only color the positive drawing in the next piece.

After red comes red-orange, then orange, then yellow-orange, then yellow, then yellow green. You don't have to alternate the coloring of the pieces, but I like the result.

Choose the complimentary color (the color directly across on the color wheel) and color in the empty space on the pie.

And that's it. A radial pattern color wheel with complimentary colors. Enjoy! www.faithhopeandart.blogspot.com
