How to create a cracked glass vellum butterfly
Create a Cracked Glass Vellum Butterfly

STEPS
TOOLS
I used a piece of American Crafts Vellum from the Swirlydoos January 2016 Main Kit
Punch out two different sized butterflies
Press your butterfly face down onto VersaMark Stamp Pad. Be sure to get full coverage
I like to put my UTEE into a tub. Press your butterfly face down in to the UTEE
Here you can see the UTEE stuck onto the butterfly
Heat thoroughly.
When the UTEE has melted press again into the powder while still hot. Do this 2 or 3 more time to get a nice thick coat. Once done leave in the freezer for 15-30 minutes
Since the UTEE has harden it should be easy to crack. GENTLY bend the butterfly back and forth to get the cracks.
I painted on some mist to give some color. It will seep into the cracks
Here I added a darker color
This is the completed butterfly. I layered the different sized punches with hot glue. For the finishing touch I added a flat back adhesive pearl.
I used the butterflies on a layout I created for Swirlydoos Kit Club using the January 2016 Collection, Vineyard.
