Are you ready for a fresh, different makeup look?
Gather supplies! I thought it might help to picture mine :) I used all shimmery shadows, bright lip color, and a shimmering blush to make this summer look really pop in the sun.
prime your eyes and face for the hot summer sun! I used bare minerals prime time, and urban decay eye primer potion. Moving on to eye makeup, so that we can touch up fallout when doing face makeup.
use tape to create a clean line with your shadow, on the angle you want your cat eye to sit. The winged liner will follow the edge of the shadow.
I just used a rounded blending brush for all my shadow but you should use as many and whichever tools you find most effective and comfortable.
Lavender, or medium shade pastel tone-outer edge of the crease. Blend using short strokes high into the brow bone and inward along the crease toward the bridge of the nose, for your base color.
Adding depth, blend a deeper shade that still has bright color-I picked a dark royal blue-along the tape, tapering up to the brow to begin the cateye shape, and along the outer edge of the lash line.
Add a medium shade warm toned highlight, like a peachy pink or a gold-flecked taupe to the inner third of the eyelid to brighten and open the eye and blend well into the darker hues of the outer half.
To add dimension&staying power to shadow on your lower lash line, run a bright, gel/soft liner the same color as shadow you plan to use, heavily along your lower lash line focusing on the outer 3/4.
add a shimmering shadow slightly lighter than the liner-I picked a mint green-on the inner half of your lower lash line for further dimension and pop.
Now, blending with the deep blue on the upper outer eye and add more dimension, add a shade slightly deeper than the liner (shimmery camo green) over it at the outer corner of the lower lash line.
Add a high shimmer especially light shade like a gold, shimmery white, pale pink, or silver to the inner corner of the eye for twinkle, definition, and pop to the whole eye's appearance.
Remove the tape-don't worry if edge isn't perfect, because you'll line over it. As seen on left, lower lash line may be sloppy, so clean that edge by blending out with a brush or w/qtip and Vaseline.
Liner time! Create winged tip first by lining along the clean shadow's edge, taper the liner to a point. Then from its thickest point @ the eye's edge, to the inner corner of the eye, tapering also.
Make it extra unique w/a double wing! Apply white shadow below the 1st wing to define, & add the second shorter wing, making its upper edge parallel to the 1st wing's upper edge. Taper the lower edge.
Finished look for the eyes :) wipe away any fallout and onto face and lips!
Add foundation and concealer, apply them in that order. I tend to just use the liquid foundation I included in the photo (Revlon PhotoReady) under the eyes and around the nose with a round brush.
Use a reliable, soft blush brush and apply a fairly matte, bronze blush to the apples of the cheeks, blending out and upward toward the temples.
Apply shimmery, light, peachy blush to upper inner corners of the cheeks blending into the darker blush. This catches the light and highlights cheek bones, defining your face and making you glow.
Contour with a matte powder darker than your skin tone, under the high points of your cheek bones down to your jawline on either side of the chin, & along the sides of the bridge of your nose.
Finish with a lip that pops and shines! The multidimensional look of the covergirl flip stick is great. Use a lip liner for extended wear in the sun. Line lips with the deeper of the two colors.
Fill in the center of the lips with the lighter, shimmering shade for a full, bright, bold look. Top with a shimmering or clear gloss to up the ante-with this look I'd pick a shimmering gold gloss.
The finished look! Bright, bold, and ready to party! Sexy and polished, but if you prime, it's also beach prepared and appropriate too, because it's so playful. Hope you enjoyed it!
