How to craft an elf house nightlight

Cut a piece of heavyweight scrapbook paper to measure 4.5" x 7". This will be the main piece of the house.

Use the circle or square punch to make window openings in the house. They can be arranged any way you like.

Download the FREE template we've provided for your roof and door from http://goo.gl/iQPqNv. Print the template and cut out the roof pattern.

Trace the template on scrapbook paper. Cut out the roof.

Apply a strip of double stick tape along one edge of the roof. Apply another strip of double stick tape along one edge of the house. Leave the pieces flat for now.

Use the larger square punch to punch windows out of the vellum paper. You may also use scissors to simply cut the squares.

On the backside of the house, outline each window with the glue stick. Place a vellum square over each window and press in place.

Use permanent marker's to decorate the windows as desired.

Cut out the template for the door. Trace it on a piece of paper and cut out. If you like, you can decorate it with markers. Glue it in place on the front of your house.

Gently curve the house into a cylinder shape. Peel the paper backing off the double stick tape and secure it to the other side of the house.

Add ribbon or other trims with tacky glue. This house has grass made from a strip of paper.

We used a feather, circle of paper and googly eyes to make a troll for this house.

Gently curl the roof into a cone shape. Peel the paper backing off the double stick tape and secure it to the other side of the roof.

Add trim to the bottom of the roof or add a fancy edge with decorative scissors.

Wind a piece of pipe cleaner around a pencil or marker. You can add a flower or leaf to one end with Tacky glue. Put glue on the other end and insert into the top of the roof.

Decide how you would like the roof to sit on your house. Use Tacky glue to secure it in place.

Place your Elf House over a flameless tea light to use as a decorative night light in your room.
