Insert straw through remaining hole into a small puddle of glue. Apply glue around the base of the straw, also. (TIP: don't spin the finished drum for a couple of hours so the glue has time to dry!)

Here's an easy way to string your wooden beads on the twine. Fold the small piece of wire in half, then insert it through one of the beads. Put twine through the wire loop and pull through the bead.

Tie beads onto each end of the twine with a double knot. Trim twine close to the knot and put a dab of glue on each knot to secure. TIP: Be sure the beads will hit the drum surface before tying knots.

You will need two pieces of duct tape, each about 8" long to cover the sides of your drum. TIP: It's helpful to place the duct tape strips on parchment or wax paper so you can easily cut it to size.

Trim the duct tape strips so they are as wide as the side of your drum. Apply the first strip starting at the top. Make a vertical snip on each end of the duct tape so it will fit around the string.

Cut the remaining strip of duct tape in half the long way and stick to the bottom of the drum on each side of the straw. Some will stick to the straw, but you can scrunch it down with your fingers.
