How to cook snow crabs

All snow crabs come pre-cooked and have a ton of meat on them. You can eat them cold but I prefer them heated up. If you buy them thawed out do not refreeze them. If you buy frozen let them thaw out.

Squeeze in lemon or vinegar

Squeeze in lemon or vinegar

The lemon or vinegar helps take away the fishy smell and adds a small amount of flavor

Add crabs to the bottom of the pot (add as many as you want to cook)

Cover crabs with old bay. I like a lot but you can add as much as you like. You also can add no old bay

Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil over high heat. When boiling turn the temp down to medium. Steam crabs for 5-8 minutes. All you are doing is heating them up since crab is already cooked!

Add 3 tablespoons of butter to a microwave safe dish and cover with a paper towel. Cook for 30-60 seconds or until melted. Do not so this step until your crabs are ready.

If your crab comes out like this you did not over cook it.

DO not over cook the crab. If you do it will stick to the shell and take longer to eat. Good luck!
