Sliced the pork (thick sliced is fine). Marinated for at least 3 hour or overnight for best result.

For this recipe, I char the pork for 10-15min.  Wait!!!! Don't throw away the juice.

Set up your plate: rice, lettuce, cucumber, and pickle carrot & daikon. I used the char pork juice over the rice.

  • 1/2lb Pork butt or shoulder
  • 1/2c Chopped lemongrass
  • 1/2c Sugar
  • 3.0Tbsp Of fish sauce
  • 1/2Tbsp Ground black pepper
  • 4.0Tbsp Sesame oil
  • 2.0Tbsp Thick soy sauce /caramel sauce
  • 3.0 Chopped garlic
  • 4.0 Chopped shallot
  • Optional: pickle carrot & daikon
