Cut up peppers and onion.  Put in a large warm skillet on medium heat.  Add some ground black pepper.

After vegetables begin to soften, add cut up sausage.  Stir sausage and peppers together.

Add box of Zataran's to the skillet with sausage & veggies.

Add butter & pour water in skillet.  Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.  Turn heat down to medium low and cover.  Cook 25-30 minutes stirring occasionally until most of the water is absorbed.

Add Frank's Red Hot to the serving if you want. I like it with Frank's, but I leave the Frank's off when I serve this dish to my kids.

  • 1.0lb Smoked sausage
  • 1.0 Box Zataran's Red Beans & Rice
  • 3.0 Bell peppers (any color)
  • 1.0 Medium onion
  • 3.0c Water
  • 2.0Tbsp Butter
  • Frank's Red Hot (optional)
  • Ground Black pepper
