How to cook patta gobhi aaloo: cabbage and potatoes

INGREDIENTS

Ingredients: cabbage, potato, ginger, cilantro, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, cilantro-cumin powder and salt

Microwave 2 potatoes for 8minutes

Finely chop cabbage

Peel and cut potato in cubes

Heat oil in a cooking vessel

Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and sauté for a few seconds

Add cubed potatoes, chopped green chillies, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt , red chili powder, ginger paste and mix all of them (keep the gas on medium)

Place lid and cook over low flame for about 10minutes. Mix in between so that the potatoes don't stick to the vessel or burn :)

Add chopped cabbage

Keep mixing and let it cook over low flame

Place lid

Add salt to taste and very little sugar. Let it cook for a few more minutes so that all the flavors blend

Sprinkle cilantro leaves on top.....and it's ready :)
- 1.0 Cabbage
- 2.0 Potato
- 2.0Tbsp Ginger
- 1.0tsp Salt
- 1/2tsp Turmeric powder
- 3.0Tbsp Cilantro
- 1/2tsp Cumin seeds
- 1.0tsp Cilantro-cumin seeds powder (Dhaniya jeera)
- Sugar
- Canola oil
- Red chili powder or green chillies
