INGREDIENTS
Boil water with salt.
Place the pasta whole into the water.
As the water boils, the pasta will start dropping deeper into the pan
You can "assist" by pushing the pasta down.
About 1 minute later....
Cook according to pack instructions on to time.
Stir the pasta 4 Minutes into cooking to ensure the pasta doesn't stick to each other. Untangle the ends as they tend to stick.
Just before the time is up take a bite and you want to see the white and the larger it is the more time it still needs but it depends on one's taste.
Drain into colander.
Cool under running water. This will wash off the starch and stop the cooking process.
Add a little oil to prevent the pasta from sticking when cool and dry.
Give a quick mix. You can add some freshly ground black pepper.
Linguini pasta ready for use or refrigeration.
