Chop onions on the smaller side.
Add onions to pan with oil and cook over medium heat for three minutes. Add a dash of salt and pepper.
Add 2 lbs of ground beef to onions and cook over medium heat. Break up as it is cooking.
When beef is browned drain any fat and add tomatoes.
Once tomatoes are mixed in taste and add any seasonings you like. Let simmer on low for 30 minutes. Either recycle the tomato can or save it for a craft project!!
Add macaroni to boiling water. Cook until al dente. Drain. Should take about 6 minutes.
Add drained elbow macaroni to meat and tomatoes and mix in. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes.
Measure cheese and mix together. Add half to the macaroni and meat save the rest for the top.
Put into a oven proof dish! I still have about two cups left in the pan. I'm going to freeze it for another time.
Top with cheese and cover with tin foil. Put in a 400 degree oven for 30 minutes.
Take off tin foil and broil until its beautiful! About 3 minutes.
Should look like this! Scoop it out and enjoy! We had it with a side salad and some Italian bread from our favorite bakery!
