How to cook fried milkfish

Fried milkfish was one of my favorite Filipino dishes while growing up. If you're not into fish, then disregard :). If you are then try this recipe.

I store my fish in the freezer until I am ready to marinate it in vinegar mixture.

Place frozen fish in vinegar mixture (with onions and garlic). Add a little salt and pepper.  Cover & store in fridge over night. If you buy it fresh & cook it right away then marinate it for an hour.

Put olive oil in frying pan and cook with skin side down first under medium heat for about ten minutes. Careful of the oil splattering everywhere.

  • 2.0 Slices of onion

  • 1.0 Milkfish cut in half
