Put your oats and milk of your choice (I like soy or oat milk) in the pan and let it heat gently. Put it on a middle heat and let it get to a boil gradually.

When your porridge is boiling gently and thickening, turn the heat down a little. When it has thickened up, add your sugar and cinnamon and stir well.

You can always add dried fruits (I like raisins and apple), fresh fruits, nuts, granola, jam, more sugar and "cream" (Oat Dream is my preferred cream sub) to keep it interesting.

Serve it up. Add your mix-ins (today I just had cinnamon sugar) and scoff before it gets cold!

You can substitute other spices to tailor it to you- and what you've got in! Vanilla sugar works well, cardamom is lovely, and a little ginger with syrup or chocolate- 😊
