Mix the garlic salt, pepper, bread crumbs, and half of the cheese in a small bowl. In another bowl add the melted butter and milk and mix together.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Dip each chicken breast into the butter and then in the breadcrumb mixture to coat evenly.
Sauté the breasts until they are just barely cooked, or slightly undercooked. Pour the jar of pasta sauce into a baking dish large enough to hold all of the chicken.
Place the breasts in the baking dish, sprinkle each with the remaining cheese, and bake for 20 minutes. Serve over pasta, prepared as directed.
