gather your ingredients.
cut the stem off the artichoke and snip off the spikes.
after rinsing and spreading the leaves apart, we pour olive oil and spices (we used salt, black and white peppercorn,) over the top and down the leaves.
cut onion and garlic.
place artichokes in pot (fill an inch or two with water,) upside down (to steam,) with garlic and onions.
while artichokes are steaming, gather ingredients for aioli (mayo, Dijon mustard, spices, and garlic.)
the mayo will be your base (oil an egg yokes emulsified,) use as much as needed for amount of people.
to taste, add: Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, white peppercorn, paprika, garlic, and chili powder. mix and refrigerate.
the artichokes are done when you can pull a leaf off, with the tongs, easily. pull them out and drain.
place rightside up in an over safe dish and spread butter, parmesan, and Panko bread crumbs over the top and down the leaves. drizzle with olive oil and bake for 5mins at 350F and broil for 3mins.
serve with aioli. enjoy with your honey!
