Wash & cut the string beans into small roundels as shown above.
Cut the carrots into small cubes. Put both the beans & carrot cubes into hot water and let cook for abt 10 mins. This will soften the beans and carrots to cook faster when they are sautéed later on.
Prep a tbsp of mustard seeds, couple of red chillies and a tsp of urad dhal (split black gram lentils)
Heat a tsp of oil in a flat bottomed pan and add the mustard seeds, chillies and urad dhal. Fry till the mustard starts to splutter &the urad dhal turns a light brown.
Add the beans and carrots to the mix. Cover and cook for abt 15 mins until the mix is cooked. Keep sprinkling a little water to cook the mix with steam.
Serve with indian roti or rice.

- 2.0 Carrots
- 1.0Tbsp Mustard seeds
- 3.0 Red Chilli
- 1.0tsp Vegetable oil
- 1.0tsp Urad dhal (split black gram)
