Chop abalone into chunky pieces. Let it soak overnight with sake (one tablespoon) - this removes smell and also softens the abalone

Add one tablespoon of sesame oil to a large casserole pot. Add in washed white rice (can be done  with brown rice). Make sure to soak the rice overnight to help it soften for quicker cooking.
