Gather your ingredients. I ended up using one onion less and only 3 potatoes in total. It will depend on how big is your pot
Roughly chop your vegs and add them to some vegetable oil with the bay leaves
Cook for about 10 minutes
Add the meat and the flour
When meat is brown add the potatoes and stir for a bit
Add the ale, the chopped tomatoes and salt and pepper to taste
Bring it to boil and cover. Let it simmer for three hours
Take off the lid the last half and hour
On a cold day, nothing beats a hearty stew
