How to cook a healthy, tasty and cheap stew (easy)
Love this dish. Easy made, loved by all and nice from the freezer on a busy day.

STEPS
INGREDIENTS
My mom used to make this dish in winter time. It's easy to make and will feed 6 grown ups. We didn't have a lot of money and this is a poor mans dish, but the taste is fit for a king. Let's start!
Heat your oil and stir in the curry. Then fry your beef.
Dice up the onion and add it to the beef.
Take your cabbage. Mine wasn't so big, so I took a bit more than half for my dish.
Cut the cabbage into small chewable pieces.
Throw this bit away or feed it to a neighborhood rabbit.
Add the instant stock powder or cubes to the beef and stir it in. Don't add any water at this point.
When the beef mix looks like this...
Add the cabbage and 100 ml of water. This may seem like a small amount, but the water inside the cabbage will drain out into the stew while cooking. Remember to stir and put the lid on at this point!
Now peel your carrots.
And cut them into slices like this.
After 15 minutes of cooking your stew should look like this.
Now add the carrots, stir and put the lid back on.
The lid keeps the liquid in the pot and prevents it from burning. Stir the dish once in a while.
After 30-40 minutes the stew should be tender and look like this. Have a taste! If too salty, add 1 teaspoon of honey or sugar. Sometimes the instant stock can be quite salty depending on the brand.
We usually eat it from a bowl with a spoon, to get all the juices 😋
Leftovers develop a deeper flavor and are even better after a night in the fridge or a trip to the freezer.
I hope you enjoy this stew! Let me know what you think and have a look at my other guides for other cheap and easy dishes with lots of taste 😉
