How to clean copper or brass with ketchup

Clean item with warm water and dish soap. Dry with a paper towel.

Apply about a tablespoon of ketchup (enough to completely saturate the portion of the item you are scrubbing) to the item or paper towel. Optional: Pour salt onto ketchup for additional abrasion.

Scrub the area and apply more ketchup or salt as needed. The vinegar, salt and acids from ketchup lift the age right off.

Continue scrubbing until satisfied with the result. Rinse the item with warm water, dry and put your item on display.
