How to clean and maintain a baitcast reel for all anglers

Gather the supplies that are needed.

Place the reel on a soft cloth.

Loosen the knob to free the horizontal silver pin.

Rotate the cover opposite of the handle downwards.

Remove the brake cover.

Remove the spool.

Apply the reel cleaner to all parts of the reel (let soak for five minutes).

Use the swabs to clean the reel parts as needed.

Apply the reel grease to the main gears inside the main casing.

Apply the oil to the spool bearing and frame bearing as needed.

Place the spool back into the main casing.

Replace the cover and tighten it by rotating forward.

Wipe the reel with the cloth to remove remaining cleaner.
