How to check the oil of a vehicle

First thing you need to do is locate the latch that opens the hood to your vehicle.

Locate the oil stick. It is usually brightly colored and easy to find.

Next, pull the oil stick out for its hole.

Grab a rag or tissue and wipe the existing oil from the oil stick.

Return the oil stick to its hole.

Pull the oil stick back out from the hole. Look to see if the oil is in between the two dots. If not, you will need to add more oil. Also check the color of the oil.
