Start out by unscrewing the plug on the upper right hand side.
Behind the plug there is the pin that holds the brake pads into place. Unscrew the pin slowly. (Do NOT remove pads from caliper.
Press the side of the caliper to move the outside brake pad back to push the caliper piston back into the bore with the screwdriver carefully! Do NOT use too much pressure against the rotor.
Pull the pin out slowly to remove the inner pad first.
After the inner pad has been removed pull the pin put to remove the outer pad from the caliper.
The retainer clip can be replaced with the new one supplied in the kit. It is very difficult and doesn't need to be replaced unless previously damaged.
Install new inside brake pads using the same orientation as had previously removed. Make sure front mounting tab is seated in retainer clip with friction pad facing rotor. ***
***You can easily see the placement of the pad from the opposite side of end, looking through your rear wheel.
Install new outside brake pad using same orientation as a previously removed pad. Make sure front mounting tab is seated in retainer clip and friction pad is facing rotor.
Tighten Allen bolt to 131-173 in-lbs.
Replace the flathead bolt plug.
Pump brake pedal to move piston out until he contacts outside brake pad. Verify piston location against pad. Position motorcycle upright. Check brake fluid level in master cylinder and brake fluid if
needed. ** Avoid making hard stops for the first 100 miles this allows the new pads to become conditioned to the brake discs
