How to chain stitch

Start with a needle and knotted thread.

Come up from the back and pull your yarn all the way through.

Start to make a curve with the yarn.

Put your needle down where you came up....

....bring it back up right in front of the curve. Make sure the needle is on top of the yarn.

Pull your needle through.

You should have one loop.

Make another curve.

Put your needle down where you came up....

....come up again just in front of or to the left of the curve.

Pull your yarn through.

Repeat.

To finish make a small stitch over the last curve to hold it in place.
