How to build a triangular desk with a top shelf

We had a small corner in our guest room where we wanted to fit a desk. A regular square desk was too big so we decided to build a triangular one. This is what we came up with.

We cut the MDF in a 60°/30° angle. In the back there is a hole, which is great for cables going through.

After cutting the MDF we mounted the desk to the wall and attached one leg (the left wall was not strong enough).

From left-overs, we were able to make a desk shelf that covers the hole in the back.

The desk shelf comes in handy to hide a keyboard underneath.

The desk shelf is held by two small legs in the front and one L-bracket mounted on the wall in the back.

We did the cable management using binder clips, a nice idea we got from Lifehacker. This way you won't see the cables unless you kneel down.
