STEPS
INGREDIENTS
Boil a pot of water and then cut the power (turn off!)
Add a cup of sugga and mix it up
Get ready to tea bag (add two tablespoons of loose leaf tea)! Black or green tea works best.
Add tea to water
Cover and let steep until cool (room temp)
Remove the scoby (top layer, it should feel firm)
Set the scoby on a clean plate
Bottle the kombucha, cap it and let it sit for a day or two to carbonate before you chill it in the fridge
Set aside some of the kombucha as the starter tea (a cup or two)
Add starter tea, fresh brewed tea and the scoby into the pitcher (the scoby has a mind of its own and may float, float sideways or sink to the bottom)
The paper towel and rubber band at the top acts as a filter to prevent dust from getting in while allowing it to breathe. Let it sit for 7-10 days and repeat
- 1.0c Sugar
