How to bleach hair extensions

!!!! WARNING !!!! If not done properly, bleaching any hair, including extensions, could cause irreversible damage. This guide will be done using a sample piece of hair for testing purposes.

When choosing the Developer, you'll have the option of 20, 30, & 40. 40 vol will provide the most lift. Meaning your hair will be bleached the lightest. 20 is the opposite. I chose to use 30 vol.

Add a small amount of the Powder Lightener and the Developer to your container.

Stir until mixed completely and smooth.

I wrapped a rubber band to separate the section where I want the bleach to go from the hair that will remain dark.

Place the hair on your foil

Apply the mixture to the hair.

Make sure to cover all strands evenly to avoid streaking.

Fold foil over the hair for processing.

I placed it in a plastic bag and set it aside for 10 minutes.

This is how the hair looked after 10 minutes of processing. I wanted it lighter so I folded it back in foil to process longer.

10 minutes later, still not quite there. I added a bit more of the bleach mixture. I folded back in foil and set aside.

10 minutes later, perfection! Now wash.

Neutralizing Shampoo will instantly stop the chemicals from processing further. The shampoo turns pink when applied to the bleach mix. Wash the hair until the shampoo is white. Then rinse.

Follow up with a good conditioner. I love this conditioner.

Here are the results. It's a bit light plus there was no dimension.

I added color also known as a toner. I only kept this in the hair for a few minutes as I didn't want it to get too dark. The toner will create lo-light effect.
