The Almond .
Put the almonds in a pot .
Pour boiling water over them to barely cover their tops .
Let the almonds sit in the water for about 4 minutes , Do not keep them there for too long or they will lose their crispiness and will be too soft .
Remove the almonds from the water .
Slip the skins off by squeezing the almonds between your thumb and forefingers , the skin will easily slide . 😆😆
The blanching is done :)
Now the almonds is ready to be roasted .
Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium-low to medium heat .
When the oil is preheated , spread the almonds across the pan .
Stir or shake the almonds very frequently ( about once every 30 seconds ) to prevent the nuts from burning .
Once you notice the skin of the almonds slightly start to crackle and the nuts are releasing a fragrance, you can turn the heat off .
Remove the almonds from the pan when they are done toasting , just before the almonds begin to develop browned edges and a fragrant smell , remove them from the pan .
Pouring them immediately into another dish with paper towels or kitchen towel to cool .
The almonds is ready to be used in salads or any type of food 😋😋
- 1.0c Skin-on almonds
- Paper Towels
- 1.0c Water
- 4.0Tbsp Corn Oil or olive oil
